Phases of the Moon

Occasionally, I've tried to show my son a flashlight+ball demo of the phases of the Moon. Up until recently, I'm pretty sure he's been only slightly interested but mostly ready to have his flashlight back so he can shine it into my eyes, giggle maniacally, and dive into his tent.

But now he's almost 5, he's starting to soak up everything related to space. He loves pointing out the moon at night, noting its shape.

A mom and I (with a brilliant young narrator) made a video of the classic flashlight+ball demo for the kids (and parents) to watch as a fun reminder of how easy it is to include a little science in everyday playtime.
